TRAI's SMS Regulations & Online Free sms service websites

   Lot of people use the online services provided by way2sms.com , 160by2.com, etc.. to send free SMS to friends & others.

But now TRAI ( Telecom Regulatory Authority of India ) is bringing up restrictions on sending SMS.

The impact to people using the online free SMS services are:

You are not allowed to send any message from 9PM to 9AM(any day). Your messages won't get delivered to your friends who are registered in "Do Not Disturb" Registry. You are not allowed to send Messages with your Mobile number as sender.

                      And also the the normal mobile users could send only maximum of 100 sms per day. Thus the mobile operators have to stop their unlimited SMS packs.

The SMS service has evolved as the cheapest way of communication in India. This restriction is a set back to customers, mobile operators and the online free SMS service websites.

These regulations will be made practice from 27th September.
